The Governing Body of Lulworth and Winfrith CE VC Primary School
has the following vacancies:
Local Authority Governor
The holder of this post represents Dorset Council on the School Governing Body. The post can be filled by any member of the local community who would like to take an active interest in the direction of school.
The holder of this post must be a practising member of the church community who wants to help to support the school’s Christian ethos. This is a statutory requirement for a Church School.
Governors meet approximately twice a term (recently on Zoom). Governance is a collective responsibility; discussion at meetings is open and democratic but must remain confidential. We all bring different skills and viewpoints. The Body is accountable as a whole and assessed by Ofsted as a part of the whole school’s performance. A Governor, once settled, will be asked to take particular interest in a certain aspect of school life (eg a subject, from PE to Maths to Wider Curriculum; safeguarding; Finance etc) and report to Governors. This will require some additional meetings at times to be agreed. Being a School Governor is a thoroughly fulfilling experience and a true service to the community. Please consider joining us.
If you would like to be part of our school’s development and future success, please contact the office at: email@example.com or on 01929 400330. We would love to hear from you.
